Young, awkward and lonely

Since the beginning of 2024 I've had the pleasure of working on the video clips of Jeangu Macrooy's new album.

This has been a collaboration between Jeangu, Rauwkost and me.

In this project I was responsible for all of the animations.

The lyric animations use Jeangu's handwriting as a base for that personal feeling that his songs have. These are acompampanied by small animations that show even more of the story​

I had a blast working on this clip. This is the first of a total of five video clips that we are collaborating on.

​Jeangu is an established singer and musical star, known for competing in the eurovision songfestival (2020) and for his role in Jezus Christ superstar as Jezus. ​In 2024 he started releasing new songs, where this was the first one. The songs are all very personal and full of visual lyrics that were perfect to animate to.

Rauwkost is a Rotterdam based production house. They do a combination of commercial work and personal projects. They did all of the shooting and editing for the clip.
